ஹேக்கர்கள் புதிதாக ஏவியுள்ள (A massive ransomware identified as Wannacry also known as, WannaCryptor or WCRY) வைரஸ்களால் இதுவரை சுமார் 99 நாடுகள் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. குறிப்பாக பேங்க்குகள், மருத்துவமனைகள், அரசு அலுவலகங்கள், தனியார் நிறுவனங்கள், கார் உற்பத்தி நிலையங்கள் போன்றவை பெரும் பாதிப்புக்குள்ளானதாக தகவல்கள் வெளியாகியுள்ளன.
இன்னொருபுறம் இத்தகைய வைரஸ்களை பரப்பிவிட்டு காசு பார்க்கும் ஹேக்கர்களை பிடிக்க யூரோபோல் போலீஸ் அதிகாரிகள் (இன்டர்போல் போன்ற உளவுத்துறை) களத்தில் இறக்கிவிடப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.
மைக்ரோசாப்ட் வின்டோஸ் எக்ஸ்பியை அதிகம் உபயோகிக்கும் ரஷ்யா, இந்தியா போன்ற நாடுகளே இதில் அதிகம் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாக தெரியவந்துள்ளது.

A massive ransomware identified as Wannacry also known as, WannaCryptor or WCRY hit computer systems of private companies and public organizations across the globe which is believed to be the most ransomware attack happened to date.
Like other ransomwares, WannaCry also blocks access to a computer or its files and demands money to unlock it. Once infected with the WannaCry ransomware, victims are asked to pay $300 to $600 in order to remove the infection from their PCs otherwise their PC’s remains unusable and the files remains locked.
The worm functionality attempts to infect unpatched Windows machines in the local network. The exploit has the capability to penetrate into machines running unpatched version of Windows computers and servers by exploiting flaws in Microsoft Windows SMB Server. At the same time, it also executes massive scanning on Internet IP addresses to find and infect other vulnerable computers. Once a single computer in the company is hit by the WannaCry ransomware, the worm looks for other vulnerable computers and infects them as well.
Microsoft released a patch for the vulnerability in March (MS17-010), but many users and organizations who did not patch their systems are open to attacks. In our network the patches and updates are distributed thru centralized desktop enterprise management system. Our IT team will ensure the patches are installed in all the computers in the network. However, please ensure to install the patches in the company laptops, which has been kept to use from home and your personal computers as well.

How to Protect Yourself from Ransomware:
Please ensure to regularly install updates and patches on Windows machines and servers. To safeguard against such ransomware infection, one should always be suspicious of uninvited documents and file attachments sent an email and should never click on links inside those documents unless verifying the source. Please always maintain, a good backup routine in place that makes their copies to an external storage device that is not always connected to your PC.
Also, make sure that you run an updated anti-virus tools on the systems, and most importantly, always browse the Internet safely.

4. தனிநபர் தாக்குதல் அடங்கிய கருத்துகளை வாசகர்கள் பதிவு செய்வதை யாரேனும் சுட்டிக் காட்டினால், அத்தகைய கருத்துகள் உடனடியாக நீக்கப்படும்.
5. தங்களின் பெயர் மற்றும் சரியான மின்னஞ்சல் முகவரியை பயன்படுத்தி கருத்து பதிவிட அன்புடன் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறோம்.
